Located on the north side of Century Avenue in Pudong, the Oriental Art Center was designed by renowned French architect Paul Andreu . It can accommodate a variety of performances, including symphonies, ballets, musicals, operas, and plays.

The Oriental Art Center's exterior features a metal-laminated glass curtain wall, while the interior walls are adorned with custom-made ceramic pendants in shades of light yellow, ochre, brown, and gray. From a high vantage point, the five hemispheres represent the main entrance, Oriental Concert Hall, Oriental Music Hall, Exhibition Hall, and Oriental Opera House. They resemble the petals of a magnificent " Phalaenopsis " orchid .
