Jing'an Villa, located on Jing'an Temple Road (now Nanjing West Road), is the largest modern-style lane residential complex in Shanghai. It was once the base of the Chaozhou Guild Hall and had stables where the British raised horses. It was also home to famous people such as Cai Yuanpei, Kong Xiangxi, and Yu Youren.

In the 1930s and 1940s, many prominent families and celebrities lived here. With the exception of one building designated as a general historical structure, the rest are listed as outstanding historical buildings. Jing'an Villas can be said to be a microcosm of Shanghai's residential areas and are quite representative.

Today, 183 houses remain in Jing'an Villa . After decades of transformation, the legendary Jing'an Villa has shed its former splendor. Each first-floor unit boasts a patio measuring approximately ten square meters. Looking up, one can admire the well-preserved wall reliefs, small Western-style balconies, and black cast-iron window lattices. The spacious public spaces between the buildings are lush and green, creating an ideal setting for cafes, galleries, and more.

As a representative of the new-style lane houses in old Shanghai, Jing'an Villa, despite its age, still attracts many film and television productions with its unique charm and unique style. Even the movie "Lust, Caution" was filmed here.
