The Shanghai Baoshan International Folk Art Expo is located in the southeast corner of Gucun Park at the intersection of Hutai Road and the Outer Ring Road. The exterior design concept is derived from the folk cultural image of " Chinese Knot " and has a construction area of 14,600 square meters.
The Expo Hall is a two-story building. The first floor, with an exhibition area of approximately 3,000 square meters, is organized by Shanghai University and comprises eight exhibition halls: the Preface Hall, the Haishang Baoshan Hall, the China Hall, the Asia-Pacific Hall, the Middle East Hall, the Africa Hall, the Europe and America Hall, and the Latin America Hall. By combining multimedia displays with physical objects, such as sound, light, and electricity, visitors can interactively learn about the intangible cultural heritage, folk art, and folk culture of the five continents and various ethnic groups.
In addition, the Expo Center also has a 3,000- square-meter handicraft workshop. As a district-school cooperation project between Baoshan District and Shanghai University, the School of Fine Arts of Shanghai University has set up several studios here for jewelry, ceramic painting, fabric art, etc.
