
Meilan Lake, located in Luodian, Baoshan District, Shanghai, covers an area of 110 mu (approximately 1.5 acres) and is the second largest artificial lake in downtown Shanghai, a renowned small town in China. Meilan Lake is the core landscape of Luodian, Baoshan District, and is known as "the most beautiful place in northern Shanghai." It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot.
Lake Mälaren was planned and designed by the Swedish SWECO Group. It features a pure ecological green environment, dense forest cover, fresh and natural air, and a concentrated Nordic architectural complex. It is a landscape area modeled after the small town of Sigtuna on the shores of Lake Mälaren, Sweden's largest lake. The shape of each building is different.
The scenic area is centered around the breathtaking Lake Meilan, surrounded by Nordic-style, three-story buildings. These include: an outlet shopping plaza offering both shopping and sightseeing; a Nordic-style street integrating dining, entertainment, and leisure activities; the five-star Crowne Plaza Lake Meilan, resembling a Nordic castle; and the Lake Meilan International Conference Center, a premier convention landmark in northern Shanghai.
There is also the entertaining Lake Meilan Theme Park; the 36-hole North Forest South Lake Golf Course, one of the top ten golf courses in China and in line with international PGA standards; the Lake Meilan International Art Gallery, which houses a collection of domestic art masterpieces; and the largest Lake Meilan wedding photography base in Asia, with the participation of many brands.
In addition, there are water tourism projects, Nordic clock tower, red bridge, crocodile mountain, turtle island and other leisure attractions in the scenic area.
