Luchao Port is located at the southernmost tip of Pudong, at the confluence of the East China Sea and Hangzhou Bay. It faces Putuo Mountain, Shengsi, and the Greater and Lesser Yangshan Mountains to the south. Following the launch of the National Deepwater Port project, five berths were completed in the first phase, giving the port a designed handling capacity of 2.2 million TEUs.
