The Shanghai Metro Museum, located at 1779 Wuzhong Road ( inside the under-construction MixC ) , is adjacent to Ziteng Road Station on Metro Line 10. The museum details the story of the Shanghai Metro through sections covering its development history, functions, culture, safety, and global subways.

Inside the exhibition hall, a dazzling array of historical documents and exhibits, from yellowed and precious subway documents to a simulated imported subway train cab, are on display. Deep within the hall lies a tunnel, where a scaled-down reconstruction of a subway tunnel shield excavation reveals the arduous task of constructing the Shanghai Metro's Great Wall of Steel in the challenging geological conditions resembling tofu .

The museum features historical exhibits such as the "Shanghai Metro Preliminary Plan ( Draft ) " and a geological model of a Shanghai subway station, as well as numerous exhibits created using new technologies such as sound, light, and color effects. You can also play a DIY train assembly game on a touchscreen, assembling the train body, locomotive, doors, pantograph, and more. You can also color the train, match ribbons, and ultimately print and " build " the train.
