Introducing Huoshan Park

Huoshan Park is located in the southeast of Hongkou District. Its main gate is at the intersection of Huoshan Road and Zhoushan Road. It faces south and has a well-arranged density of trees. There are 678 trees of 41 species in the park .

The park features red-leaf plum trees, privets, and hibiscus trees. A grape trellis stands in the center, flanked by roses and crabapples. The southern part of the park is dedicated to children, featuring a seesaw, slides, and swings. The pavilion and corridor in the west is a recreational area for the elderly.

The park still preserves the former Jewish refugee shelter. There is a plaque on the front wall of the building with inscriptions in Chinese and English: In order to thank the people of Shanghai for taking in Jewish refugees before and during World War II, with the support of the Hongkou District People's Government, the Israeli government and Israeli companies have specially invested in the renovation of this building as a memorial.
