The Gu Zhenghong Memorial Hall, located in Putuo District, Shanghai, is dedicated to the memory of the martyr Gu Zhenghong, an outstanding communist fighter nurtured by the Communist Party of China.
In May 1925 , the great anti - imperialist patriotic movement, sparked by Gu Zhenghong's sacrifice , went down in history. To carry on the revolutionary traditions of the martyrs and promote patriotism, the Gu Zhenghong Memorial Hall opened on May 30, 2008, the 83rd anniversary of the May 30th Movement. It was designated a " Shanghai Patriotic Education Base " by the Shanghai Municipal Government .
The Gu Zhenghong Memorial Hall, covering a total area of 1,300 square meters, consists of the Gu Zhenghong Memorial Square, the museum's exhibitions, and the martyr's memorial site. The exhibition is divided into seven sections: the dark days of old China, a difficult childhood, working in a Japanese factory, the cradle of revolution in western Shanghai, the flames of the February strike, the Gu Zhenghong tragedy, and the May 30th Movement .
