Introducing Sanshan Hall

It was built in 1909 by Fujian fruit merchants in Shanghai and completed in 1914. Located at 1551 Zhongshan South Road, at the foot of Nanpu Bridge in Shanghai, it is the only well-preserved guild hall from the late Qing Dynasty in Shanghai.

Because there are three mountains in Fuzhou City: Yu Mountain in the southeast, Wushi Mountain (Dao Mountain) in the southwest, and Yuewang Mountain (Mountain) in the north, the guild hall was named "Sanshan".

The Sanshan Guild Hall was designated a Shanghai cultural relic protection site in 1959 and opened to the public after its relocation and renovation in September 1989. It is now a Shanghai patriotism education base, a Shanghai national defense education base, a Shanghai red tourism base, and the 2010 World Expo's urban cultural exhibition hall.
