Friendship Park was built in 1990 and is located in the living area of ​​Baoshan Iron and Steel Plant. It is adjacent to Tongji Road, the main traffic artery in the area, to the west, Baolin Road to the south, and Songyi Middle School in Baosteel Village 10 to the north. The original Xinshi River runs through the park. The park is square in shape and covers an area of ​​4.41 hectares.

The park's main attractions include a beautiful, natural artificial lake, unique mushroom pavilions, a single-column pavilion, and fountains. The membrane-structured pavilion is unique among city-owned parks. The park's layout features a natural garden-like atmosphere, with spacious, flat lawns and lush plantings complementing natural trails and winding corridors, creating a sense of changing scenery with every step. The construction of a fitness path and fitness garden further enhances the park's functionality and landscape.

In 2004, in order to create a star-rated park in Shanghai, a major adjustment was made to the seedlings in the park, and most of the hardware facilities were repaired and renovated, with a total investment of about 1.5 million yuan. It was rated as a three-star park that year.
