Shanghai Auto Expo Park is built around the Shanghai Auto Museum, located on the south side of the core trade zone of Shanghai International Automobile City, bordering Moyu South Road to the west and Gongyuan Road to the north. The Zhuozaobang River and Wusong River flow through the park respectively.
The Shanghai Auto Expo Park is a comprehensive park themed around automotive entertainment, exhibitions, and culture, covering a total area of 768,000 square meters. In September 2015, at the initiative of the China Tourism Association, Madame Tussauds Shanghai signed a commitment to maintain ticket price increases.
The park is themed on developed areas of the automobile industry and is divided into five major parks: the "China Park," the "US Park," the "UK Park," the "Japan Park," and the "Europe Park," each with buildings in a local style.
The tourist and leisure area is composed of three overlapping components: a natural landscape garden, a national customs garden, and an automotive culture theme park. The national customs garden showcases the unique landscape characteristics of each major automotive nation through the expression of diverse architectural styles, traditional gardening methods, and landscaping elements from countries such as China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, and Italy. The diverse and colorful landscape, combined with the display of automobiles from various countries, seamlessly integrates automotive culture with garden landscape culture, providing a rich experience for visitors.
The Auto Expo Park boasts a subtropical monsoon climate and is divided into two relatively independent areas: the Convention and Exhibition Area and the Tourist and Leisure Area. The Convention and Exhibition Area, located in the west, forms a garden-like public area with relatively concentrated buildings. The Tourist and Leisure Area, located in the east, serves as both the main space for sightseeing and a focal point for automotive culture, making it suitable for year-round travel.
