Introducing Zhenyuan Prefecture City Wall

During the early years of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, a section of the city wall, approximately 60 meters long, was breached by floodwaters 40 meters west of the city wall's upper north gate. This section was repaired in 1826, the sixth year of the Daoguang reign. The restored wall stands 10 meters high and 3 meters thick. The "Inscription on the Reconstruction of the City Wall" in 1893, the nineteenth year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, records that sections of the city wall had been breached by floods numerous times and required numerous repairs.

The Guizhou Provincial People's Government announced it as a provincial cultural relic protection unit in November 1985.
