Introducing Qinghai Provincial Museum
The Qinghai Provincial Museum is located on the east side of Xinning Square in Chengxi District, Xining City. It is the first large-scale comprehensive museum in Qinghai with modern functions. It is a good place to learn about Qinghai’s history and the cultures of various ethnic groups. It also has exhibitions and interpretations of Tibetan Buddhism and Islamic cultural systems.
The museum consists of two main floors. The first floor houses a shop selling handicrafts, while the second floor houses exhibitions of Qinghai's historical relics and intangible cultural heritage. The Qinghai Intangible Cultural Heritage section showcases the cultures and customs of Qinghai's many ethnic groups, with models and sand tables showcasing Qinghai's numerous festivals, rituals, songs, dances, and other arts and culture.
