Yunnan Ethnic Village, located on the north shore of Dianchi Lake, is a narrow peninsula known as " Haigeng ," stretching from east to west into Dianchi Lake . Covering 20,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres), it boasts a natural bathing area and sports training base, making it a popular summer destination for recreation and vacation. It faces scenic spots such as Xishan Forest Park, Daguan Park, and Zheng He Park across the water.
Yunnan Ethnic Villages features villages representing 25 ethnic minorities, including the Yi, Bai, Dai, Miao, Jingpo, Wa, Hani, Naxi, Lisu, and Dulong. It also features ethnic dance halls, an ethnic square, and tourist facilities such as laser fountains and water screen cinemas. The villages showcase Yunnan's ethnic customs through restored displays.
In the Yunnan Ethnic Village, you can not only learn about the architectural styles, costumes, and customs of Yunnan's various ethnic groups, but also enjoy viewing laser fountains, water screen movies, ethnic songs and dances, elephant performances, sample ethnic snacks, and purchase ethnic handicrafts. Tour guides dressed in ethnic costumes provide guided tours and explain the customs of each ethnic group.
