Introducing Phoenix Source

Phoenix Source, also known as the Huangshan East Sea Grand Canyon and Xianggu Source, is a grand canyon over 10 kilometers deep between Xiandu Peak and Bushui Peak in Huangshan East Sea . Entering Phoenix Source is via Phoenix Bridge on National Highway 205. Standing on the bridge, you can gaze up at a stone phoenix resting on the emerald hills opposite Bushui Peak, seemingly gazing at Mudan Peak.

According to legend, this is the place where Emperor Huangdi's beloved wife Leizu raised the phoenix, and it is the hometown of the phoenix. There is also a strange rock on Xiandu Peak that looks like a phoenix, with its head raised as if about to fly, as if it is about to emerge from the source, so it is named Phoenix Source.

Phoenix Spring maintains its pristine ecological landscape to this day, boasting vibrant flowers, striking peaks, grotesque rocks, flowing emerald waters, dense forests, and a vibrant wilderness. Among the many canyons in Huangshan, Phoenix Spring boasts a unique blend of scenery and boundless charm, earning its praise in a contemporary poem: "Phoenixes dance in the heavens, phoenixes cry across the seas; meet in Lover's Valley, and return to Phoenix Spring."

At the entrance of Fenghuangyuan Valley lies Wuni Pass, a pass built during the Ming Dynasty and boasting 400 years of history. It was a crucial gateway to Huizhou and Huangshan in ancient times, and a crucial strategic location. According to the "She County Chronicles," this is the site of the moving story of Xianggu, a Southern Song Dynasty heroine, and her husband, who assisted Yue Fei in his war against the Jin army. In modern times, this is also the site of the heroic battle where martyr Fang Zhimin led the Red Army's advance team northward in a fierce battle against the Kuomintang reactionaries.
