It opened to traffic on August 31 , 2013. It is not only a major transportation hub but also a beautiful sight.

The bridge, resembling a giant Anhui-style covered bridge, stretches 249 meters, with four lanes in the middle. The two sides, resembling covered bridges, serve as corridors for tourists to walk and sightsee, with canopies to provide shade and shelter from the sun and rain.

In the middle of the bridge, there is a lotus-shaped viewing platform with a 27- meter -high eaves . The carvings and couplets on the bridge fully demonstrate the historical context of ancient Huizhou, especially Tunxi.
