Introducing Zheshan Scenic Area

The Zheshan Scenic Area is located north of the iconic Jiuzi Square in downtown Wuhu, separated by Anhui Normal University. Legend has it that Gan Jiang once forged his sword nearby, burning the mountain red, hence the name " Zheshan . " Even today, you can still see the crimson rocks and soil scattered across the mountain, some as red as agate, a dazzling sight.

Zheshan Mountain stands tall in the northwest corner of the city center. It comprises two peaks, one large and one small: Dazhe Mountain, 84.8 meters above sea level, and Xiaozhe Mountain, 67.9 meters. The mountain is covered in lush trees and abundant flowers. Yuan Dynasty writer Ouyang Xuan once described its majestic scenery in his poem "Climbing Zheshan Mountain": " Rising from the vast ocean, its solitary height is even more striking. Its energy penetrates the mists of Danxue Cave, and its light reflects the rosy clouds of Chicheng. "

Zheshan Park has always been an ideal spot for appreciating the panoramic views. Of the more than 50 hills within the city center, each offering a unique view, Zheshan is undoubtedly the most renowned. Ancient people praised Zheshan as the " majestic mountain " of the Jiangcheng region. It has long been known as the " Jade Peak " and the " Hundred-foot Pagoda ," and is considered a symbol of Wuhu.
