Should I reserve for dinner mid February, mid week?

I know the Pink House is busy but we are not going there as want to try something different. Do folks think it is necessary to reserve for 2 in the HD area?

What are your favourites for eclectic food with vegetarian options please?

Even though mid-February falls outside the peak tourist season in Savannah, it’s still a good idea to make dinner reservations in the Historic District, especially for popular or eclectic restaurants. Mid-week can be quieter than weekends, but many restaurants have limited seating and fill up quickly, so a reservation ensures you won’t be waiting or turned away.

For two people, you may occasionally get a walk-in table, but to be safe—especially if you’re looking for specific types of cuisine or want a good spot—reserving is recommended.

For eclectic food with vegetarian options, Savannah has a nice variety of restaurants. Some favorites among locals and visitors include:

  • Treylor Park: Creative takes on Southern comfort food with vegetarian twists.
  • Fox & Fig Cafe: A fully vegetarian cafe with diverse menu options, from bowls to desserts.
  • The Collins Quarter: Modern cafe with brunch, dinner options, and good vegetarian choices.
  • Kayak Kafé: Known for eclectic sandwiches and salads, including vegetarian-friendly options.
  • Local 11ten: Upscale and creative menu with several vegetarian dishes and a cozy atmosphere.

Tips for dining in Savannah:

  • Check if the restaurant offers online reservations through OpenTable or their website to secure your spot easily.
  • Ask when you reserve about vegetarian options, as menus can change seasonally.
  • Arrive a bit earlier or later than prime dinner time (6:00–7:30 PM) if you prefer a quieter experience.

Overall, a mid-week dinner in mid-February is likely easier to get than during holidays or weekends, but booking ahead is the safest approach, especially for highly rated eclectic restaurants with vegetarian choices.
