Augusta National Golf Club

Hi!

Is there any way to walk the course? I know it's an exclusive club and I assume access without Masters tickets (or volunteering for the event) is still impossible. I haven't looked into this recently, so I wanted to see if anything has changed :-)

Augusta National Golf Club is one of the most exclusive golf courses in the world, and you're correct that general access is highly restricted, especially outside of the Masters Tournament. Unfortunately, the answer to your question remains the same: you cannot walk the course unless you have a special invitation or are attending the Masters.

Access Without Masters Tickets or Volunteering:

There are no regular public tours or walking access to Augusta National Golf Club outside of the Masters Tournament. The club has a strict policy of privacy, and it is not open to the public for casual visits. Even locals or golf enthusiasts can't visit unless they are personally invited by a member or have tickets for the Masters Tournament itself.

During the Masters Tournament:

During the Masters (held every April), the course is open to ticket holders, but getting tickets is incredibly difficult. They are awarded via a lottery system, and they are extremely limited. Masters tickets allow access to the course, where you can walk around, watch the players, and enjoy the famous event. However, these tickets are not available for purchase on the open market, and they are in very high demand.

Other Ways to Experience Augusta National:

  • Ticketed Events: The only time the public can visit Augusta National is during the Masters Tournament. There are no other general events that allow public access to the course at other times of the year.
  • Invitation by a Member: Augusta National is a private club, and members are allowed to invite guests. If you know a member (which is extremely rare for most), you could potentially get an invitation to play or visit the course during certain times, but this is highly exclusive and not something easily arranged.
  • The Masters Practice Rounds: If you're lucky enough to secure tickets for the Masters practice rounds (usually the Monday through Wednesday before the tournament starts), you can walk the course and see the players in a more relaxed setting. Practice round tickets are sometimes easier to get than tournament tickets, but they're still limited.

Conclusion:

Unfortunately, unless you are attending the Masters Tournament or have a personal invitation from a member, it is still impossible to casually walk Augusta National Golf Club. It remains a highly exclusive, members-only golf course, and its privacy policies haven't changed. If you're planning to visit Augusta during the Masters, it’s best to try to secure tickets in advance or explore the surrounding areas of Augusta during the tournament.
