Outside food/drink resorts
We’re looking for house with access to a larger pool/clubhouse/resort where we’re allowed to bring our own food and drinks. Does this just exist around Orlando. Seems like they all have a strict policy.
Finding vacation rental communities or resort-style properties around Orlando that allow outside food and drinks can be tricky, as many strictly enforce policies for safety and liability reasons. However, there are options, particularly if you are booking a private home within a larger gated community or resort-style neighborhood.
Vacation homes with clubhouse/pool access:
- Many homes on platforms like Airbnb or Vrbo in communities such as Reunion Resort, Windsor Hills, ChampionsGate, and Storey Lake offer access to shared pools, clubhouses, and amenities. Policies vary, but many allow residents and guests to bring their own food and beverages for personal use at the pool.
- Some newer developments, such as Solterra Resort or Encore Resort, also provide resort-style amenities and are more flexible with private home rules compared to traditional hotels.
- Smaller gated communities often have private pools for your home, so you can fully control food and drinks without violating rules.
Things to check before booking:
- Confirm with the host or property manager about clubhouse/pool rules. Some restrict alcohol, require wristbands, or limit outside food during peak hours.
- Check if there are scheduled lifeguards or monitored areas—some resorts prohibit outside food in supervised pools for safety.
- Ask about parking, guest limits, and whether you need to reserve pool access during busy seasons.
In summary, the best approach is to book a private vacation home within a resort-style community rather than a traditional hotel. This allows access to larger pools, clubhouses, and shared amenities while generally permitting outside food and drinks, as long as you adhere to community rules. Always verify policies with the host to avoid surprises.
