Greetings, I have a question regarding the Plane Train at the Atlanta Airport.
I am leaving Sacramento tomorrow morning flying into Atlanta, Delta flight, arriving at 2:33pm and I have a connecting Delta flight (International Gate E 1) at 3:30pm with boarding closing at 3:15.
When I originally booked this flight the connecting flight left at 4pm. I am very nervous about making this connecting flight, will the Plane Train be able to accommodate? I arrive at gate B 24, from what I can find online the Plane Train is downstairs, inside the terminal.
Is it easy to find? are there plenty of signs? Does it only go in one direction? How long will it take once I get on it to get to the International terminal? Would I get off at International or is it gate specific? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
It sounds like you have a tight connection at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, so it’s understandable that you’re concerned about making your connecting flight. Let’s break down the key factors to help you navigate the situation with the Plane Train and ease your mind.
The Plane Train is a convenient automated people mover system at ATL, connecting all terminals (Domestic and International) and concourses. It’s a quick and efficient way to get from one gate to another, especially when you're connecting between terminals.
Here’s how it should work for you:
While you have a tight 57-minute layover, here are a few things to keep in mind:
While it is a tight connection, the Plane Train is an efficient way to get between terminals. With only a 2-3 minute ride and frequent trains, it’s very possible to make your connection if your inbound flight arrives on time. Keep an eye on the time, move quickly through the terminal, and follow the signs. If needed, inform a Delta employee about your tight connection, and they may be able to help expedite your transfer.
Best of luck with your layover, and I hope everything goes smoothly with your connection!
