We will be staying at the Waikaloa Beach Villas in a 2 bedroom condo and a friend of mine will joining us for a few nights. I contacted the condo management about parking and was told they only have 1 parking space permit for our use. My friend will have her own rental car and we are trying to figure out where she can park her car overnight? The management said there is no overnight parking in the Queen and Kings shopping center parking lots. Does anyone have a suggestion of where she can keep her car?
It sounds like you're facing a bit of a parking challenge, but there are a few potential solutions for your friend to consider while staying at the Waikoloa Beach Villas. Since the Queen and Kings shopping centers don't allow overnight parking, here are some options for securing a parking space nearby:
1. Waikoloa Beach Resort Public Parking:
While parking at the Queen and Kings shopping centers is prohibited overnight, the Waikoloa Beach Resort, where the Waikoloa Beach Villas are located, has several public parking areas that might allow overnight parking. Check with the resort’s management or security personnel to confirm the overnight parking policy for any available spaces outside your condo area. These spaces are usually intended for visitors to the resort’s amenities and could be an option if your friend’s car isn’t parked in a private lot.
2. Parking at Nearby Hotels:
If no spaces are available at the Waikoloa Beach Resort itself, you might also want to check if any nearby hotels or resorts have overnight parking for non-guests. Some hotels in the area may allow overnight parking for a small fee. It's a good idea to contact these hotels in advance to see if they have any availability for overnight parking and whether they would permit your friend's car to stay for a few nights.
3. Residential Street Parking:
Another option might be to look for residential street parking in the surrounding area. Many places in Waikoloa Village allow street parking, but make sure you check for any street signs or restrictions that could prohibit overnight parking. If street parking is allowed, it’s a low-cost option that doesn’t require a reservation.
4. Contact a Local Parking Service:
If none of the above options work, there are also private parking services that might offer overnight parking. These services can be useful if you don’t want to worry about finding a space every evening. You can search for parking lots that rent spaces out by the day or week in the Waikoloa area.
In summary, your best bet is to contact the Waikoloa Beach Resort for any public parking options or inquire with nearby hotels to see if they offer parking for non-guests. You can also explore residential street parking or reach out to private parking services as a backup option. Good luck, and enjoy your time on the Big Island!
