The Parking Spot is a popular parking service near Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). They offer both covered and uncovered parking options, and many travelers find their service convenient and affordable, especially with the shuttle service to and from the airport.

Regarding your specific questions:

  • Shuttle Reliability: The shuttle service at The Parking Spot is generally reliable. Shuttles run regularly to and from the airport, and most users report short wait times. During peak travel times, such as mornings or evenings, the shuttles might be busier, but they typically operate on a consistent schedule. It's a good idea to check with the staff or the parking spot app (if available) for real-time updates on shuttle departures.
  • Covered vs Uncovered Parking Pricing: The price difference between covered and uncovered parking often depends on demand, availability, and seasonality. Typically, covered parking is more expensive due to the protection it offers from weather elements like rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. If the covered parking is listed at $10 a day compared to the previous $30, it could be due to a special promotion, reduced demand, or a pricing error. It’s also possible that the $30 rate was for premium or closer-to-terminal spaces. It’s worth confirming with the facility directly, especially if the pricing seems inconsistent.
  • Choosing Covered Parking: If you want the extra protection for your vehicle during the winter months (especially mid-January, which can bring snow and cold temperatures), paying the $10 rate for covered parking is a good option. It will shield your car from the elements and might also provide a more secure environment for your vehicle.

Overall, The Parking Spot is known for offering good service, and with the lower rate for covered parking, it could be a great value, especially if the weather during your trip could impact your car. If you're still concerned about the price difference, you might want to reach out to customer service to get clarification on the exact reasons behind the change.
