Granite Park Chalet

How many people can stay in one room at Granite Park Chalet? I have stayed there before but don't remember if the bunkbeds sleep 2 or if they are stacked beds that sleep 4. I can't find that information. I hope to get a room for 4 female family members.

The Granite Park Chalet is a historic backcountry lodge located in Glacier National Park, offering a rustic and unique experience. The rooms in the Chalet typically have bunkbeds, but they are designed to accommodate 4 people in each room.

  • Bunkbed Configuration: The rooms are generally equipped with a set of bunkbeds, which can sleep 4 people in total—2 people on the lower bunk and 2 on the upper bunk. The beds are stacked, so there is no need to worry about finding separate spaces for everyone.
  • Room Capacity: Each room at the Granite Park Chalet can comfortably sleep up to 4 people. The room is not especially spacious, so it’s ideal for smaller groups or families, but it’s perfect for the 4 female family members you mentioned.
  • Shared Space: The rooms are relatively basic with no private bathrooms (bathrooms are shared facilities), which is typical of rustic backcountry lodges. However, the experience and location make it a memorable stay.

If you’re planning to reserve a room for your group of four, it should work well as long as you're comfortable with sharing a small space and the bunkbed arrangement. Keep in mind that reservations for the Granite Park Chalet can be quite popular, so it’s a good idea to book as early as possible, especially for peak season in the summer months.

Overall, the bunkbeds should be more than enough for your group of four, and you'll have a chance to enjoy the stunning surroundings of Glacier National Park in a unique and cozy backcountry setting!
