Joshua Tree
Are there any Joshia trees between LV and Boulder City,Nev?
Joshua trees are typically found in the Mojave Desert, but they are not commonly found directly between Las Vegas and Boulder City. However, you can see Joshua trees if you venture off the main highway a bit or head into certain desert areas in southern Nevada.
- Joshua Tree National Park: While it’s not on the direct route between Las Vegas and Boulder City, Joshua Tree National Park is famous for its stunning Joshua trees and is located about 3 hours from Las Vegas. This would be a detour, but it’s well worth it if you want to see fields of Joshua trees in their natural habitat.
- Lake Mead National Recreation Area: While driving from Las Vegas to Boulder City, you will pass near Lake Mead, which is a large recreation area, but it’s unlikely to have dense Joshua tree forests along the highway. Some scattered Joshua trees can be found in the surrounding desert, especially if you go hiking in the backcountry areas. The area around the scenic overlook on Highway 93 may have a few Joshua trees.
- Desert View Overlook and Scenic Drives: If you are interested in exploring, there are some scenic byways near Boulder City, like the Red Rock Canyon area, where you might catch sight of some Joshua trees, but they are not in abundance as you would see in places like Joshua Tree National Park.
If you’re looking to spot Joshua trees on your drive, it might be best to head toward the outskirts of the Mojave Desert or into areas like the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area or the Desert National Wildlife Refuge for a more likely encounter, though they are sparse between Las Vegas and Boulder City itself.
