hello! This question has been asked in the past, but figured I’d bounce it off everyone here before we made our decision. I know things change at parking facilities pretty frequently.
looking to park for seven nights (jet blue), and there will be seven of us. 3 kids.
We've never flown out of Logan before, however, our typical departure airport is JFK. Flying out of JFK, it makes sense to use a non-port-authority parking lot because the private lots not only drop you off at your terminal, but you also get picked up at your terminal’s baggage claim. The port authority lots pick you up at a dedicated place for the entire airport.
Any recs?
Ive been told "Preflight Parking" is a solid choice.
Thank you!
It's great that you're planning ahead for your parking at Logan Airport! Boston’s Logan Airport has several parking options, including both on-site and off-site parking lots, and the availability and prices can change. For your situation, where you’ll be parking for seven nights and have a group of seven (including three kids), here are some options and recommendations based on common experiences:
1. Preflight Parking:
As you mentioned, Preflight Parking is often a popular recommendation. It’s an off-site lot located just a few minutes away from Logan and offers a shuttle service that drops you off directly at your terminal. It’s very convenient, especially for families, and provides a good level of service. They also have covered and uncovered parking options, and many people find the rates reasonable for long-term parking. The shuttles are frequent and direct, which is similar to the convenience you’re used to at JFK’s non-Port Authority lots.
2. Logan Airport Long-Term Parking (Lot E):
Logan has its own Long-Term Parking lot (Lot E) right at the airport, which is another solid option. While it’s on-site, the shuttle buses will take you from Lot E directly to your terminal, just like Preflight Parking’s shuttle system. This lot can sometimes be more expensive than off-site lots, but if you prefer being at the airport itself, it’s convenient.
3. Economy Parking (Lot C):
Logan's Economy Parking (Lot C) is a slightly less expensive option than the Long-Term Parking lot and is also on-site. This lot is further away from the terminals, but there are shuttles that take you directly to your terminal. It’s often a good option for those who want to stay at the airport without paying the highest rates.
4. Off-Site Parking Lots Near Logan:
In addition to Preflight, there are several other off-site parking lots around Logan that offer competitive prices and similar shuttle services. Some options include Park Shuttle & Fly and Fast Park & Relax. These lots are slightly further away but offer the same drop-off service directly at the terminal. Many of these lots also offer discounts if you book in advance.
5. Valet Parking at Logan:
If you prefer the ultimate convenience, Logan also offers valet parking, where you can drive directly to your terminal and a valet will park your car for you. This is the most expensive option, but it can be worth it if you're in a hurry and don’t want to deal with shuttle buses.
Recommendations:
For a family group like yours, Preflight Parking is a solid choice based on its combination of good service, reasonable price, and ease of use. If you prefer something even closer to the terminals, consider Logan’s Long-Term Parking or Economy Parking, though they will be a bit pricier. Booking in advance, when possible, can also help you lock in better rates, especially if you're parking for several days.
Enjoy your trip, and I hope this helps you find the best parking option for your needs! Safe travels!
