Sheraton w reno?

Has anyone stayed at the Sheraton (Dalton St/Copley) lately? We have reservations at the end of the month. When we made them, the lobby etc were expected to be open by now.

When I stopped by a month ago, it wasn’t done & they weren’t optimistic.

What is current status? If no lobby, does that mean no club either?

* second option would maybe be the Colonnade but we don’t earn points there so not ideal.

Thanks

The Sheraton on Dalton St (Copley area) has been undergoing renovations for quite some time, and unfortunately, there have been delays in the lobby and other common areas being completed. While some of the work was originally expected to be finished by now, it's clear that things have taken longer than anticipated. If you stopped by a month ago and the lobby was still under renovation, it’s likely that the work is still ongoing, though the exact status may have changed slightly since then. It’s always a good idea to call the hotel directly to confirm their current status, as renovations can sometimes finish earlier than expected, or there may be updates on the timeline.

As for the club lounge, it’s typically tied to the availability of the lobby area, so if the lobby isn't operational yet, the club lounge might also be unavailable during your stay. Again, this is something that would be best confirmed directly with the hotel. They may offer alternative amenities or compensation, especially if you were expecting the full experience.

If you’re considering the Colonnade as a second option, it’s a great hotel with a more boutique feel, though as you mentioned, you wouldn’t earn points with Marriott there. However, it could still offer a comfortable and convenient stay, especially if you're looking for a quieter and more upscale environment compared to the Sheraton's ongoing renovation.

  • Call the Sheraton directly: Confirm the current renovation status, availability of the club lounge, and any potential alternative amenities they may be offering.
  • Consider the Colonnade: A good option for comfort and proximity, even though it doesn't allow you to earn points if that’s important to you.
  • Look into other nearby Marriott properties: If earning points is a major factor, consider checking out other Marriott hotels in the area, such as the Boston Marriott Copley Place or the Westin Copley Place, which might have a similar location without the renovation concerns.

It’s always a bit of a gamble with renovations, but hopefully, you'll get the experience you’re looking for, whether at the Sheraton or the Colonnade!
