Lounge suitable for 80 ppl (No buy out)

Hi all

For the last 6 years, my facebook group has had a members week main event held at the Lounge at Excalibur without the need of a contract or minimum spend.

Excalibur have always been nice enough to allow us to use it and have a cash bar.

Well this year they've turned around and said they would only be able to help if we do a buy out of the venue and agree to a minimum spend. We are in no position to do this. I know we would probably get a minimum spend, but I don't want to guarantee it as everyone is responsible for their own drinks.

We will be looking for a Wednesday afternoon (May 7th) at 4pm or 5pm for a couple of hours.

Does anyone have any ideas of where this would be possible? Or if you have a contact that you can pass on to me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chups

It sounds like you're in a bit of a tricky situation with the Excalibur Lounge, but there are several other venues in Las Vegas that may be able to accommodate your group of 80 people without a buyout or a required minimum spend. Many lounges and bars in Las Vegas offer flexible booking options, especially during off-peak hours like the afternoon on a weekday.

Here are a few options to consider that might fit your needs for your event on May 7th around 4 pm or 5 pm:

  • The Vault at The Cosmopolitan: This stylish and intimate lounge offers a great atmosphere for groups without the need for a buyout. They typically allow for smaller, flexible group reservations and may be open to your request for a cash bar. It's worth inquiring directly with the venue about group bookings.
  • The Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan: This is another upscale venue in a prime location, offering a unique, multi-story chandelier. The bar has a great ambiance and is used to accommodating large groups. You might be able to reserve a section for your group, especially during off-peak times like the afternoon.
  • The Barrymore at The Royal Resort: The Barrymore offers a laid-back atmosphere with great service and could be a more affordable option. It doesn’t require a buyout for large groups, and they can work with you to ensure a smooth event with a cash bar. The lounge area is spacious enough to accommodate a group of 80 comfortably.
  • The Library at The LINQ Hotel: This is a more relaxed, fun venue with a vintage vibe. They can accommodate groups and offer a cash bar without a buyout requirement, making it a good alternative for your event.
  • Skyfall Lounge at Delano: While a bit more upscale, Skyfall has great views and is an open, airy lounge that could comfortably host a group. It’s possible to book the space for a specific time without a full buyout, and they are familiar with accommodating large groups in a laid-back way.

Most of these venues are used to hosting events and might be flexible with their policies. My suggestion would be to contact the venues directly and inquire about private reservations or space for a group event, emphasizing that you are looking for a cash bar and don’t want to commit to a full buyout or minimum spend.

Additionally, some hotels offer event coordination services that might be able to suggest other venues or connect you with the right person to make your reservation. It could be helpful to mention that you're looking for a relaxed and informal setup, and you might be able to negotiate a deal without the usual restrictions.

Best of luck with your event, and I hope one of these places works out for your group!
