Getting a Second Room Comped

The MLIFE website is currently granting me up to 4 days at all MGM properties twice.

However, even though I can book about 40 free nights in Vegas right now, and I've done that with many trips booked through July, including on holiday weekends, it won't let me book two rooms concurrently.

I even called the hotel and they said they wouldn't do it for me. I don't have a host and don't think I play enough to earn one.

Does anyone here have some advice for me?

Thanks.

It sounds like you're in a bit of a tricky situation with trying to book two rooms concurrently using your MLIFE comp offers. While the system and hotel policies may not easily allow this, there are a few strategies you can try to increase your chances of getting a second room comped or finding an alternative solution:

Tips for Booking a Second Comped Room:

  • Call Customer Service Again – While you’ve already contacted the hotel, sometimes calling the MLIFE customer service line directly or using their VIP support may result in a different outcome. They may be able to offer additional flexibility or apply your offers manually for a second room. Explain your situation, how you’ve used the comp nights before, and politely ask if they can make an exception or suggest an alternative way to book both rooms.
  • Use Multiple Accounts – If you have a second MLIFE account, you could try booking the second room under that account. It’s common for people to use multiple accounts, and this can sometimes work if the system is limiting you to just one room per account. However, make sure to clarify with the hotel if this would be allowed to avoid any surprises when you check in.
  • Try a Smaller MGM Property – Sometimes smaller MGM properties (like the Mirage or Excalibur) may have more flexibility with comp room bookings. If you’re trying to book at a larger property like the Bellagio or Aria, they may be more stringent with the rules. Booking at a property with more available rooms could improve your chances of getting the second room comped.
  • Book One Room with Points or Cash – If you’re not able to get the second room comped through your offers, consider booking one room with your comped offer and paying for the second room using points or cash. Often, you can still get a good rate for the second room by using loyalty points or securing a discounted rate through the hotel’s booking system.
  • Ask for an Upgrade – If you’re willing to settle for an upgrade rather than a full second room, you could inquire about getting a larger suite or connecting rooms with your comped offer. This may be a workaround if you’re traveling with others and need additional space, though availability can vary depending on the hotel’s capacity.

Consider Reaching Out to a Host (if possible)

  • If you don’t have a host and think you may qualify for one, it may be worth trying to contact the property to ask about being assigned a host. Even without a significant gambling history, hosts can sometimes work with you if you’re a frequent visitor or if you explain your loyalty to the MGM properties. It doesn’t hurt to ask if they’d consider assigning you a host based on your frequent stays and current offers.

Final Thoughts

It seems that while the MLIFE system may have some restrictions when it comes to booking multiple rooms, there are still a few ways to work around the rules. The key is being polite and persistent when contacting customer service and trying alternative booking methods. Even if you can’t get the second room fully comped, there are likely ways to make it work with discounts or loyalty points.
