Freemont St to the Sphere

Have tickets for a show at the Sphere and would like to be there by 930 pm to see the intereactive exhibits. Thinking of visioning sights downtown and seeing the shows on Freemont St the same day. What time would we need to leave Freemont St to get to the Sphere? Would the bus be an option, is it frequent? Crowded? What would a taxi cost? Where can we get a taxi near Freemont St? This would be on Monday night.

Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

It sounds like you have a fun evening ahead with a visit to the Sphere and Fremont Street! Here’s how you can plan your trip from Fremont Street to the Sphere for your 9:30 pm show:

Timing:

From Fremont Street to The Sphere (located near the Venetian on the Strip), it typically takes around 15-20 minutes by taxi or rideshare, depending on traffic. However, to be safe, I recommend planning to leave Fremont Street by around 8:45-9:00 pm. This will give you enough time to account for potential traffic and delays and to get there in time for the interactive exhibits before your show starts. Keep in mind that the Strip tends to get crowded at night, especially on weekends, so it's better to leave a little earlier.

Transportation Options:

  • Taxi/Rideshare: Taking a taxi or rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is the most direct and convenient option. It will cost you around $15-20 (depending on traffic and surge pricing) for a one-way ride from Fremont Street to the Sphere. Taxis are easy to find at the Fremont Street Experience, and there are dedicated taxi stands near the main entrances of casinos like the Golden Nugget and Four Queens.
  • Bus (The Deuce or SDX): The bus could be a more affordable option. The Deuce and SDX are popular buses that run along the Strip, and you can catch them at several spots along Fremont Street. The Deuce is $6 for a 2-hour pass, and the SDX is $8 for a 24-hour pass. While these buses are frequent, they may be crowded, especially on a Monday night, and the journey could take longer due to stops along the Strip. The ride might take anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

Is the Bus Frequent? Crowded?

The Deuce and SDX buses are relatively frequent, running every 15-20 minutes, but they can get crowded, particularly in the evenings and during peak tourist times. If you prefer a quicker and more comfortable ride, a taxi or rideshare is likely the better option. If you don’t mind some extra time and enjoy a bit of people-watching, the bus can be a fun way to get to the Strip.

Where to Get a Taxi Near Fremont Street:

Taxis can be easily found at Fremont Street. There are dedicated taxi stands at several of the major casinos, including:

  • Golden Nugget (front entrance)
  • Four Queens (main entrance)
  • Binion’s Gambling Hall (near the Fremont Street entrance)

Other Considerations:

Since it’s a Monday night, traffic may not be as intense as on weekends, but it's still a good idea to leave a little earlier just in case. Also, if you are heading directly to The Sphere, be prepared for the crowds around the venue, especially if there’s a show or event at the same time.

Overall, a taxi or rideshare is likely your best bet for a smooth and timely arrival, but the bus can be a good backup if you’re looking to save a bit of money and don’t mind a longer journey. Either way, you’ll get to enjoy the unique experience at The Sphere!
