Joey's Closing Today at Whalers Village Food Court today

Another popular eatery closing at the Whalers Village Food Court.

Joeys is owned by Joey Macadangdang, a former chef from Roy's Restaurants.

He is the current owner of Joey's at Napili Plaza and Balai Pata in Kahului.

We recently ate at Joeys in Napili Plaza and wrote a Trip Advisor Review with photos. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals and the free parking.

Aloha

the Getaways.

It appears that Joey's at the Whalers Village Food Court in Kaanapali is closing today. Joey's, known for its Hawaiian-inspired dishes and casual atmosphere, has been popular with both locals and visitors, but the food court location will no longer be operating.

Fortunately, Joey Macadangdang, the owner and former Roy's chef, still operates other locations on Maui where you can enjoy his cuisine:

  • Joey's at Napili Plaza – This location offers the same menu favorites, plus free parking, and has been praised for quality meals and friendly service.
  • Balai Pata in Kahului – Another alternative for enjoying Joey’s signature dishes, convenient for those staying or passing through the central Maui area.

While it’s unfortunate that the Whalers Village location is closing, guests can still experience Joey’s food at these other Maui locations. Those planning a visit may want to consider going to Napili Plaza for a relaxed dining experience away from the busier food court setting.

Summary tips:

  • Check operating hours of Napili Plaza or Balai Pata before visiting to ensure availability.
  • Joey’s Napili Plaza location is recommended for families or groups, thanks to its free parking and convenient setup.
  • Keep an eye on TripAdvisor or local Maui foodie sites for recent reviews and photos from these locations to see menu updates.

In short, while Whalers Village will no longer be an option, Maui visitors still have the chance to enjoy Joey’s cuisine at other local spots.
