Traveling with my husband and 6 yo daughter in April. Want a one bedroom suite style room. Initially booked a one bedroom ocean front at Napili Kai, but just found a deal for Montage next door, exact same price but “garden view”. Montage pool is supposedly fabulous and their kids club is a major bonus. But Idk if it’s worth giving up an ocean view? Plus some reviews mention construction. I’m torn!
Choosing between Napili Kai and Montage Kapalua for a family trip with a young child comes down to priorities: ocean view versus amenities and kid-friendly facilities.
Napili Kai: Offers a classic Maui experience with one-bedroom oceanfront suites that provide direct views of the beach and water. The charm here is the immediate beach access, tranquil setting, and generally quieter atmosphere. For families who value waking up to ocean views, easy beach access, and a low-key environment, this property is ideal.
Montage Kapalua: The one-bedroom “garden view” suite is set within a luxury resort with exceptional amenities. The pool is expansive and well-suited for families, and the kids club is a huge bonus for entertaining children. Other highlights include spa services, multiple dining options, and more organized activities. The trade-off is that you won’t have the immediate oceanfront view, and there have been some mentions of ongoing construction or resort renovations that could affect tranquility.

Additional advice:
Ultimately, it depends on whether you value oceanfront views and tranquility over enhanced amenities and kid-centric services. Both are excellent choices, so it’s about which experience is more important for your family during this trip.
