Question

My family and I would like to visit Maine in early May or late June. We would be driving up from NY. I have no particular destination in mind yet, but we love little towns/villages, beaches and fun outdoor places to explore (my kids aren’t big hikers, so novice level hiking), beaches, shops and laid back dining and historical sites are all things we usually enjoy. What would be some towns/areas that would be great for our first trip to Maine?
