Hilton Homewood or California Building

Hello, looking a staying 7 nights at one of the self catering accommodations. Late Oct > early Nov. 1st time visiting Australians, 2 adults with no car, who just want to stroll, explore and soak up the atmosphere. Needing a kitchen as we are coeliac and it makes food so much easier as well as safer. Which would you recommend please? Or another in walkable distance?
