Arriving Friday!

Hello,

The Mr. and I are flying to BWI on Friday. We are traveling separate. He will arrive @ 1:19 and I will follow @ 2:23. By the time we pickup the rental car and drive to Annapolis, we won't have a lot of time to explore. I'm thinking we will check into the Hilton Graduate Hotel and eat an early dinner. I'm sure we will be starving by this time.

McGarvey's is my targeted restaurant. I've mapped it and it appears that it is a fifteen minute walk.

Anything else of interest we might see along the way?

It sounds like a fun trip to Annapolis! With limited time for exploring, you can definitely make the most of the time between your arrival and dinner. The Hilton Graduate Hotel is centrally located, so you'll have easy access to several points of interest in Annapolis while walking to McGarvey's.

Since you're headed to McGarvey's for dinner, which is a great seafood spot, here's a list of some interesting things to check out along the way or nearby:

  • Annapolis City Dock: As you make your way towards McGarvey's, you’ll likely pass by the City Dock. This area is home to a bustling marina with sailboats and yachts, and it’s a scenic spot to stroll around. If you have a few extra minutes, you can take in the views of the Chesapeake Bay and watch the boats come and go.
  • The Ego Alley: Just off the City Dock, this is a narrow, scenic waterway where boats often dock. It's a popular spot for photos and gives you a chance to soak in the Annapolis waterfront atmosphere.
  • Historic Annapolis Walking Tour: If you have a bit more time and energy before dinner, consider taking a quick walk through Annapolis’ historic district. The streets around the City Dock area are full of colonial-style buildings, charming shops, and restaurants. If you're into history, you might catch a glimpse of the Maryland State House, one of the oldest state capitols still in continuous legislative use in the country.
  • William Paca Garden: If you want to add a touch of tranquility to your evening, take a brief detour to this lovely garden. It’s a beautiful, well-maintained spot perfect for a short stroll, especially if you enjoy nature or architecture.

After your dinner at McGarvey's, you might also consider a relaxing walk back along the waterfront or stopping by one of the nearby bars or cafés if you want to unwind a bit. The area around City Dock has a vibrant atmosphere in the evening, especially on a Friday night.

Since you mentioned you're likely going to be pretty hungry after your flight, McGarvey's should be a great choice—it’s known for its fresh seafood and laid-back atmosphere. You’ll be able to relax and enjoy a delicious meal after a long day of travel!

I hope you have a wonderful time in Annapolis and enjoy the evening stroll and your dinner! Safe travels!
