North Station to Mass General MGH walking time?

have to go to Mass General on Friday afternoon for a quick visit, drove in today from Newburyport but traffic was horrendous. Can take the train from Newburyport but looking for the quickest walk over to MGH. Looks like a walking path maybe from the backside of the Garden? cool with going in the back door by the Ether Dome as that was easy today (Ellison wing) and seems like quicker than going around to the front. Thanks in advance.

The walk from North Station to Mass General (MGH) is approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace and the specific route you take. Since you're familiar with going to the back entrance by the Ether Dome, this could be a quicker route compared to walking around to the front of the hospital.

Here’s a suggested route if you're looking for the quickest walk:

  • Exit North Station and head toward the rear of TD Garden (the backside near the loading dock area). This should lead you directly to the side of the hospital, which brings you closer to the Ether Dome and Ellison Wing.
  • Continue walking through the area until you reach the entrance near the Ether Dome. This path bypasses the busy main entrance and can save you a bit of time compared to walking around the front of the building.
  • Alternate route: If you're unfamiliar with this route, you could also walk along Causeway Street and cut through the Mass General area from the front entrance, though this may take slightly longer if there's heavy pedestrian traffic.

If you’re trying to minimize time and avoid traffic, this backdoor route near the Ether Dome should be the most direct and quickest, and you won’t have to deal with the crowds entering through the main entrance.

Overall, your total walk time should be around 10 minutes, and it's a fairly easy route to follow, especially if you’ve already navigated the Ellison Wing area before.
