Three more days, can't wait.
I'm a low roller but got comp nights at Luxor. We enjoy MB and NYNY so can just walk for at least a day, will try Deuce other days. (Mrs. T has some mobility issues). Hope to get a drink atop the W this time.
I have read that you should put everything on your room when possible. Is this true or can I just as well use a CC so long as I give them my rewards card?
I just read that MGM manages Cosmo. I have never been and heard so much about the Chandelier Bar, I want to get a drink there too. Any connections to MGM rewards? Just wondering.
Haven't been to Fremont Street in about 15 years so want to walk around a bit and place a better at Circa, but that's another topic.
It sounds like you have a great trip ahead! Let me answer your questions in detail:
1. Should I put everything on my room for MGM Rewards points?
Yes, it's generally a good idea to charge as much as you can to your room at MGM properties (including Luxor). When you do this, it will automatically earn you MGM Rewards points for all purchases (including dining, shows, and even retail). It’s much easier to earn points this way than if you use a credit card, since it all adds up to your room account.
2. Does The Cosmopolitan (Cosmo) have connections to MGM Rewards?
Yes, as of 2021, MGM Resorts owns the Cosmopolitan. This means you can earn and redeem MGM Rewards points at Cosmo, and the same is true if you're staying at Cosmo and visiting MGM properties. The Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan is a popular spot, and you can certainly use your MGM Rewards card to earn points for purchases there.
3. Fremont Street and Circa
It’s great that you’re planning to check out Fremont Street again! It's always evolving, and Circa is a newer addition to the area with a more modern vibe. The sportsbook at Circa is one of the best in Vegas if you like sports betting, and it’s a fun place to hang out. While Fremont Street may not have the same modern glitz as the Strip, it has a charm of its own, with street performers, live music, and an iconic neon experience.
4. Mobility Considerations
Given that Mrs. T has mobility issues, I’d recommend using the Deuce bus as much as possible (it’s inexpensive and convenient), but also keep in mind that the Strip is walkable. If you're staying at Luxor and love Mandalay Bay and NYNY, they are pretty easy to access by walking, but do take breaks as needed. For some extra comfort, you may want to look into renting a scooter or wheelchair at MGM resorts, which can help reduce any walking fatigue.
In summary:
Hope this helps and that you have an amazing trip to Vegas!
