My family (husband and 2 college kids) are planning a trip in July. Yes, I know I should have started planning months ago. Anyway, my husband would like a place with an outdoor firepit to sit around in the evenings. I have found a few Airbnbs/Vrbos that might work, but I am wondering if any of the condos near Whitefish Mountain Resort have firepits. I haven't seen it in any of the descriptions. We don't have to stay near Whitefish Mountain Resort, it just seemed like where many condos are located. We just need a place with at least 2 bedrooms, 1 bath at least, and possibly the firepit. We could even stay in Kalispell or Columbia Falls. We will probably spend most of our time at Glacier, but want a place to hang out at in the evenings and have the option to sit around a fire and look at all the stars that we don't get to see in the city. We are trying to keep the cost down as much as possible (did I mention 2 kids in college). Any suggestions are appreciated.
Your trip to Whitefish sounds wonderful, and I completely understand your desire to find the perfect spot with a firepit to relax around after a day of exploring Glacier! While many condos near Whitefish Mountain Resort might not explicitly mention firepits in their descriptions, there are still options to consider in the surrounding areas, including Whitefish, Kalispell, and Columbia Falls. Here are some suggestions for places that offer both the amenities you're looking for and that cozy outdoor firepit experience:
1. Airbnb/Vrbo with Firepits: While you’ve already found a few on Airbnb and Vrbo, it's important to narrow down the search for properties with specifically listed firepits. In some listings, these amenities might be mentioned in the "outdoor space" or "amenities" sections. You can filter the search results for "firepit" or include it in the special requests when booking.
Here are a few properties or areas to consider:
2. Consider Smaller Resorts or Lodges: If you're okay with not being in a condo, but still want to be close to the action, some smaller resorts and lodges in the area might be ideal. Many of them offer communal firepits and might have cabins or suites available for families.
3. Budget-Friendly Options: Since you’re trying to keep costs down, consider these affordable alternatives to more expensive condos:
4. Inquire Directly with Property Owners: If you’ve found places that almost meet your criteria but don’t mention a firepit, it’s always worth reaching out directly to the property owner or manager. They might have an outdoor firepit or be able to recommend nearby places where you can enjoy one, even if it’s not explicitly mentioned in the listing.
By expanding your search area to Kalispell or Columbia Falls, you should have more affordable options, while still being close to Glacier National Park and Whitefish. Whether you end up with a cabin, vacation home, or lodge, having a firepit to enjoy the evenings under the stars sounds like the perfect way to end your days in this beautiful area!
