Fenway with a little one

Hello! First time to Fenway for an iconic Sox/Yankees game. The hotels by the stadium are crazy high. We will be in town for 2 nights. I don’t want to deal with moving with a mob of people onto a train. Where is best place to stay in walking distance? I’m looking at hotels, but open to a Airbnb if it’s cheaper.

How exciting that you’ll be attending a Sox/Yankees game at Fenway! It’s definitely a memorable experience, and I totally understand not wanting to deal with the hassle of moving through a crowded train station with a little one. Fortunately, there are several great options for staying within walking distance of Fenway Park, whether you prefer a hotel or an Airbnb. Here’s a breakdown of some of the best places you can stay nearby:

1. Hotels within Walking Distance of Fenway Park: Staying in a hotel close to the ballpark means you won’t have to deal with transportation or long walks after the game. Here are some options that are very close to Fenway:

  • The Verb Hotel: Located just a short walk from Fenway, The Verb is a trendy, family-friendly hotel with a great atmosphere and comfortable amenities. It’s modern and very close to the park, making it perfect for Sox fans. They also have a pool, which can be a nice bonus for your little one after the game.
  • Hotel Commonwealth: A bit more upscale, Hotel Commonwealth is located in the Fenway area and offers a great location for attending games at Fenway Park. It’s just a short walk to the stadium, and the hotel has excellent amenities, including a restaurant and bar, making it a great choice for families.
  • Boston Inn at Fenway: If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, this smaller, no-frills hotel offers a convenient location just a few minutes’ walk from Fenway. It’s a solid option if you want to be close to the action without paying top-dollar rates.

2. Airbnb Options in the Fenway Area: If you’re looking for more space or a more affordable option, Airbnb could be a great choice. There are several Airbnb rentals in the Fenway area that are family-friendly and within walking distance to Fenway Park. You can typically find apartments or homes that offer multiple bedrooms and more space for your little one to move around, which might be more comfortable for a couple of nights. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Look for Rentals in Fenway-Kenmore or Allston: These neighborhoods are just a short walk from Fenway Park and offer plenty of rental options. The Fenway-Kenmore area is especially convenient since it’s where the ballpark is located.
  • Consider a Full Apartment or Condo: If you want more space and flexibility, look for a full apartment or condo in the area. Many rentals offer amenities like kitchens (which can be great for making breakfast or snacks for your little one) and living rooms for extra space to relax.

3. Other Nearby Areas for Consideration: While Fenway is the most convenient neighborhood, there are a few other nearby areas that may offer more affordable options while still being within walking distance or a quick cab ride to the ballpark.

  • Back Bay: A lovely area just a short walk away, Back Bay has many hotels and Airbnb options. It’s a bit more upscale, but there are some more affordable rentals as well. Plus, you can stroll down Newbury Street for some shopping and dining while you're in the area.
  • Kenmore Square: This area is practically next to Fenway Park and has a variety of lodging options, from hotels to rentals. It’s a quieter area compared to downtown Boston, making it a good option for families who want to be close to the action but avoid the big crowds.
