Bars for EPL football near Fenway Park

Hi we have tickets to the baseball on Patriots Day ( also Marathon Day )and then would like to find a bar to watch the English Premier League game - we are NFFC fans. Any suggestions without getting stuck in the marathon crowds? Thanks in advance

For Patriots Day (also Marathon Day) in Boston, you're in for a busy but exciting day, especially around Fenway Park. Given that you're looking for a place to watch the English Premier League game and avoid the heavy Marathon crowds, here are some suggestions for bars near Fenway Park that are likely to show the EPL game and offer a more relaxed experience:

  • The Lansdowne Pub: Located in the Fenway area, The Lansdowne Pub is a great choice for sports fans. They often show EPL games and have a solid selection of food and drinks. It’s on the quieter end of the Lansdowne entertainment district, so you might avoid some of the heavier crowds that gather near Fenway on Patriots Day.
  • The Red Hat Café: Situated in the Fenway area, this bar is a popular hangout spot for soccer fans, especially for watching EPL games. It's more casual and offers a cozy atmosphere without the rush of the larger, more tourist-heavy bars in the area. You might be able to snag a good spot to watch the match without being overwhelmed by the Marathon crowd.
  • Jerry Remy's Sports Bar and Grill: Located at the Garden, a bit farther from Fenway but still in the downtown area, Jerry Remy’s is a fantastic spot for watching sports. It has a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of TV screens, so it’s a great place to catch the game. While it’s not right next to Fenway, it’s close enough to be a convenient alternative without getting stuck in the thick of Marathon traffic.
  • Kenmore Square Bars: There are a few good options in Kenmore Square, which is just a short walk from Fenway Park. Bars like The Bleacher Bar (located inside Fenway Park itself, with views of the field) and Boston Beer Works often show EPL games and provide a comfortable, sports-focused environment. While Kenmore Square will be busy on Marathon Day, it tends to have a more local crowd.

One more tip: Marathon Day crowds will be heavy, particularly around the finish line area, but these locations are either just outside the main Marathon route or are quieter spots to watch the game. You might want to plan ahead for some extra time to get to your chosen bar if you're trying to avoid marathon congestion.

Enjoy your game and the Patriots Day festivities in Boston!
