First weekend in June weathet

Hi all…I have a work trip coming up to Orlando the first week of June. Was thinking of extending my stay and visiting St Augustine for the weekend. I’m curious about the weather and how warm and humid it will be. Should I wait for a milder time of year or just go for it?

Coming from the Pacific NW

Thanks for your help

Visiting St. Augustine in the first weekend of June can be very pleasant if you plan ahead, but it will definitely be warmer and more humid than what you’re used to in the Pacific Northwest.

Here’s what you can generally expect for early June weather:

  • Average daytime temperatures: 85–90°F (29–32°C)
  • Evening temperatures: 70–75°F (21–24°C)
  • Humidity: Quite high, often making it feel hotter than the thermometer reading
  • Rain chances: Early summer marks the beginning of the wet season, so you might encounter short afternoon showers or thunderstorms

Tips to make the visit more comfortable:

  • Dress in light, breathable clothing and bring a hat and sunscreen for walking around the historic district.
  • Stay hydrated and plan outdoor activities for the morning or late afternoon to avoid the hottest part of the day (typically 1–4 p.m.).
  • If you enjoy being outdoors, consider waterfront or shaded areas like the Castillo de San Marcos grounds, or explore beaches in the morning.
  • Pack a light rain jacket or umbrella in case of sudden showers.

If you prefer milder temperatures and lower humidity, visiting in late March–April or October–November would be more comfortable. However, early June is doable, and with proper planning you can enjoy St. Augustine’s historic charm and beach access without too much discomfort.
