Universal hotels

Hello all. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if you can use pool floats and the like at at universal signature hotels? Reason I ask is I know Disney do not allow and wondering are universal the same. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Universal Orlando’s signature hotels, such as Loews Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort, generally have well-maintained pools designed for guest enjoyment. However, they do have specific rules regarding pool safety and equipment, similar to Disney’s policies.

Pool Floats and Other Accessories

  • Universal’s official policy typically does not allow large inflatable floats, rafts, or toys in hotel pools, primarily for safety reasons and to ensure all guests can enjoy the space.
  • Small pool noodles or personal floatation devices for young children may be permitted, but it’s always best to check with the hotel directly before bringing them.
  • Beach balls or small water toys might be allowed in designated family areas or kid-friendly pools, but this varies by property.

Other Pool Rules and Considerations

  • Life jackets for children are usually available upon request and encouraged for non-swimmers.
  • Glass containers, alcoholic beverages not purchased through the hotel, and diving or jumping are prohibited in all pool areas.
  • The hotel pools often have cabanas, loungers, and water play areas that provide fun without needing personal floats.

In short, while you cannot bring large pool floats like rafts or oversized inflatables, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the hotel pools safely. If your goal is casual floating or lounging, smaller, hotel-approved devices or just using the pool amenities provided will be your best option. Always confirm with the front desk for the most up-to-date pool rules before your stay.
