Acadia here we come!!

Question

Hello all, my husband and I are heading to Acadia National Park and want to know the best way to get there and things along the way that are MUST sees.

We are retired and have no time restrictions. We will be coming from the eastern part of WV up. I really want to take our time and just stop and go as we want and I’d like to take Route 1 the whole way.

Is this something that’s a good idea or no?? I really don’t like interstate driving (I feel you miss too much) but if I have to I will.

And again, what are must sees, places to eat (my husband LOVES seafood), places to stay, etc….any advice is welcomed and thanks in advance 😊
