Vacation Rentals

Hello! We are coming to FL July 12-19th. There will be 2 families consisting of 7 adults (ages 19-58) and a 14-year-old. We are staying the 1st part of trip in the Keys and last part the kids want some beach time. We are wanting an oceanfront beach house in LBTS, but are unsure about using VRBO or AirBnB as we are afraid of scammers. Does anyone know if a local rental estate office that will be able to assist? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

And if anyone has must do activities that only locals and frequent visitors know about, please share that as well. Thanks for any and all help as we are running out of time to get this vacay planned.

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea (LBTS) is a charming and quieter beach town with a beautiful oceanfront, perfect for families looking for a relaxing beach getaway. Finding a trustworthy vacation rental can definitely be stressful, especially for large groups like yours, so working with a reputable local real estate office can be a safer option than just using VRBO or AirBnB.

For local rental assistance, consider contacting the following real estate offices that specialize in oceanfront and luxury rentals in LBTS:

  • Coral Ridge Realty – They have experience with oceanfront homes and can offer vetted properties with secure booking.
  • South Florida Property Management / Rentals – They focus on short-term and vacation rentals along the Broward coastline, including LBTS.
  • Oceanfront Realty & Vacation Rentals – Specializes in beachfront homes and condos, with direct local management for peace of mind.

These offices typically handle payment securely and often provide concierge services or assistance during your stay, which can make your vacation less stressful.

Regarding activities that locals and frequent visitors enjoy in LBTS:

  • Scuba Diving & Snorkeling – The coral reef is just off the beach, and local dive shops offer rentals and tours for all skill levels.
  • Anglin’s Fishing Pier – A great spot for casual fishing or simply enjoying ocean views; no beach access fees.
  • Local dining – Fresh seafood is a must. Try El Prado for relaxed beachside dining or JB’s on the Beach for casual eats.
  • Water sports rentals – Paddleboards, kayaks, and jet skis can be rented from local shops right on the beach, offering fun for teens and adults alike.
  • Local markets & festivals – Check out the weekly artisan and farmers markets in the area; it’s a nice way to experience the local vibe.

For your group of 8 adults and a teen, booking early is crucial in July since it’s peak season. A larger oceanfront property with multiple bedrooms and a pool would be ideal to accommodate everyone comfortably. Make sure to ask the real estate office about exact amenities, parking, and any local rules regarding beach access.

Finally, plan some flexible downtime on the beach, as LBTS has calm waters perfect for swimming and relaxing, making it great for a family beach vacation without the crowds of nearby Fort Lauderdale.
