Booking lightening lanes from the UK?

Hi I am due to book lightening lanes in a few weeks. Can people from the uk now book 7 days out or do we still have to have a work around? I have changed my country to ‘USA’ and I can currently see the price of multi pass per day but obviously can’t book as I don’t have a ticket for those dates. I am assuming I won’t have any problems?

Booking Lightning Lane selections at Walt Disney World from the UK has become much simpler than in previous years, but there are still a few things to keep in mind. If you have valid park tickets for your dates, you should be able to book Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance through the official Disney Genie+ system, just like guests in the U.S.

Key Points for UK Guests

  • You must have valid park tickets linked to your Disney account before booking Lightning Lane selections. Without tickets, you cannot finalize bookings even if you can see the options or prices.
  • Changing your country to “USA” in your Disney account is a common step and generally allows you to view prices and availability as if you were a U.S. guest, but the system will still require linked tickets for actual booking.
  • Once your tickets are active in your account, you can book Genie+ selections exactly 7 days in advance per day, starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time on the day the booking window opens.
  • For Individual Lightning Lane attractions (the premium rides not included in Genie+), the same rules apply—you need valid tickets and can book 7 days ahead for each day of your visit.

Tips

  • Make sure your tickets are purchased and linked to your account at least a week before your planned booking date to avoid any last-minute issues.
  • Have the My Disney Experience app ready and logged in early in the morning (Eastern Time) on your booking day, as some popular attractions can sell out quickly.
  • If you’re using the UK credit card, ensure it works for international transactions within the Disney app and that the billing address matches your account to avoid payment issues.

In summary, as long as your park tickets are linked and your account is set up correctly, you should be able to book Lightning Lane selections from the UK without needing any special workarounds. The main limitation is always having valid tickets and booking within the proper time window.
