Cruise pick up

6 adults arriving Oct 19th and trying to find a company that picks up at the cruise ship dock. We don't arrive until 8:00 am and finding most of these trips leave by 7:00 am. We are looking for the all day trip to Hana. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank You

For an all-day Road to Hana tour from Maui with cruise ship pickup, the main challenge is timing—most standard tours depart early, around 7:00 a.m., and your arrival at 8:00 a.m. means you’ll need a company that can accommodate a later start or provide private tours. Here are some options and tips to consider:

Tour Options with Cruise Ship Pickup:

  • Private Hana Tours: Many local companies offer fully private tours that can pick up from the Kahului cruise port. Private tours are flexible with start times, which is ideal for your 8:00 a.m. arrival. You can request a custom itinerary to include waterfalls, beaches, Waiʻānapanapa State Park, and optional hikes along the way.
  • Small-Group Tours with Later Pickup: Some small-group operators adjust their pickup for cruise passengers if requested in advance. Call ahead and confirm if they can accommodate an 8:30–9:00 a.m. pickup from the cruise dock. It’s worth asking, as some operators will shift the departure time slightly.
  • Shore Excursion via Cruise Line: Check with your cruise line’s official shore excursions. Some all-day Hana tours are offered specifically for cruise passengers and will coordinate pickup at the dock after disembarkation. These tours may be more expensive but remove timing concerns.

General Tips:

  • Book in advance—Hana tours fill up quickly, especially during peak cruise times in October.
  • Confirm pickup location and timing explicitly. The Kahului cruise port has limited waiting areas, and tour operators typically coordinate carefully with ship schedules.
  • Consider bringing water, snacks, sunscreen, and a light jacket for varying weather along the Hana route.
  • Ask if the tour includes stops at Waiʻānapanapa State Park or Pipiwai Trail; some tours skip these due to time constraints.

In short, a private or cruise-specific tour is your best bet for an 8:00 a.m. arrival. Flexibility is key, and contacting the operator directly ensures your group won’t miss the highlights of the Road to Hana while accommodating your cruise schedule.
