Singer Island Questions-Parking/Bathrooms
Hi
Been close to 20 years since Ive been here but I remember there was a plaza with a 7-11 or such and Tee shirt shops that you used to be able to parkin while using the beach. Is that still available for free parking? If not where do you park to go to the beach for the day and are their public restroom there. Thanks for any help/tips/advice!!!
It’s great to hear you’re heading back to Singer Island after so many years! Here’s an update on the parking situation, along with the availability of restrooms and other tips for a smooth beach day.
- Parking near the Beach: Unfortunately, the plaza with the 7-11 and t-shirt shops where you used to park for free while visiting the beach is no longer available for public beach parking. That lot has been either repurposed or has restricted access now, so it's no longer a free option for beachgoers.
- Public Beach Parking: There are still several public parking lots available around the Singer Island area, but they typically require a fee. The main public beach parking lot for the Singer Island Municipal Beach is located at the intersection of Ocean Drive and Singer Island Blvd. The fee for parking here is usually around $2 to $4 per hour, depending on the time of year. Be sure to check the signage when you park for up-to-date pricing and hours.
- Additional Parking Options: There are also a few other public parking areas along the beachfront, including around the Singer Island Beach Resort area. These can sometimes fill up quickly, especially on weekends or holidays, so it's good to arrive early if you're planning to spend the whole day at the beach. If you don't mind walking a bit, you may also find street parking on some side roads near the beach.
- Restrooms on the Beach: Yes! There are public restrooms located at the Singer Island Municipal Beach. These restrooms are usually clean and well-maintained, so you’ll have a convenient spot to freshen up during your visit. There are also some smaller restroom facilities near the beach resorts and hotels, but if you’re at the public beach area, the municipal restrooms are your best bet.
- Other Tips:
- Bring cash or card for parking: Some of the parking meters may only accept credit cards, so make sure to bring a payment method just in case.
- Beach Access: The access to the beach from the parking lots is generally easy, with paths that lead directly to the sand. There are no significant steps or obstacles, so it’s great for families and individuals with mobility concerns.
- Shade and Snacks: While there are no large shady structures by the beach, you may want to bring your own umbrella or sunshade. You can also find places nearby to grab snacks or drinks if you’re not near the 7-11 area anymore.
In summary, parking is still available at the Singer Island Municipal Beach, but it’s no longer free, and the former plaza with the 7-11 is not available for beach parking anymore. You’ll find public restrooms at the beach, which should make your day by the water more comfortable. Enjoy your time at Singer Island, and make sure to check parking signage to avoid any surprises!
