Villa in which area ?

Hi, 2 adults + an 11 year old arriving in Orlando. After a week in Disney we have another week of accommodation to book. We are thinking a villa (ideally private/gated /safe) with onsite pool area and amenities. Ideally maybe also with pool of it's own.

Things we want to do in the week are

•Shopping - International drive and outlet/shopping mall

• we'll still have ticket access for disney so may still visit park

• a day at kennedy space

• relax

Any area recommendations as I have seen Four Corners, Davenport, Kissimee ? Any recommendations of which area would be good. We will have a car

For your second week in Orlando, it sounds like you're looking for a private, gated villa with a pool that is conveniently located near both shopping and some of the major attractions. Based on your plans, I have a few recommendations on the best areas for you to consider. Here’s a breakdown of the options:

1. Kissimmee

Kissimmee is one of the most popular areas for visitors to stay in when they want to be close to the Disney parks but still enjoy a quieter, residential feel. There are plenty of private, gated villas here, many of which come with their own pools. It's a very family-friendly area and offers easy access to major attractions, including Disney, shopping, and the Kennedy Space Center. You can find villa communities like Formosa Gardens, Emerald Island, and Windsor Hills, which are known for their amenities and proximity to everything.

2. Davenport (Four Corners)

Davenport is a little further out but offers a more relaxed vibe compared to Kissimmee. It’s a popular area for families looking for vacation rentals, with many gated villa communities offering private pools and excellent amenities. It’s also typically quieter, so you can enjoy some peace and relaxation after a busy day at the parks. You’re still within a 20-minute drive to Disney World and 40-45 minutes to Kennedy Space Center, making it a great balance of convenience and tranquility.

3. Windsor Hills (in Kissimmee, near Disney)

  • A gated resort community with luxury villas and townhouses.
  • Has its own amenities like a community pool, clubhouse, fitness center, and kids' playground.
  • Only a few minutes’ drive to Disney World, making it ideal for both park visits and relaxation.
  • Perfect if you're looking for a safe, family-friendly environment with close proximity to shopping areas like Disney Springs and International Drive.

4. Reunion Resort (Kissimmee area)

  • One of the most upscale resort communities in the area, known for its luxury villas and private homes.
  • Offers a wide range of amenities including on-site golf courses, multiple pools, a water park, and fine dining options.
  • A bit further from the hustle of the parks but offers a great balance between being close to the attractions and having a relaxing, luxury environment.

5. ChampionsGate (Davenport area)

  • Known for its large, modern vacation homes with private pools and plenty of space.
  • Located in the Four Corners area, it’s a great spot for relaxation and getting away from the Disney crowds while still being close enough to visit.
  • Also features resort-style amenities like golf, spas, and multiple pools, as well as easy access to shopping and dining.

Proximity to Shopping and Attractions:

  • International Drive and the Orlando International Premium Outlets are great places to shop and are easily accessible from Kissimmee and Davenport. Both areas have lots of shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
  • For a day trip to the Kennedy Space Center, both Kissimmee and Davenport are within a reasonable driving distance (about 40-45 minutes). If you want to avoid the longer drive, Kissimmee is probably the better option.
  • Since you’ll have a car, it will be easy to drive to these places from any of these areas. Just make sure to plan your trip around traffic, especially around the theme parks during peak times.

Conclusion:

For a mix of convenience, relaxation, and proximity to the attractions, I would recommend considering Kissimmee or Davenport. Kissimmee has the advantage of being close to Disney and shopping, while Davenport offers a more peaceful atmosphere but still provides quick access to all the major destinations. If you prefer a gated, resort-style community with plenty of amenities, Windsor Hills, Reunion Resort, or ChampionsGate would be great options to consider.

Whatever you choose, you’ll have easy access to shopping, theme parks, and the Kennedy Space Center, and your villa should provide a great base for both relaxation and adventure. Enjoy your trip!
