70th Birthday
I have been to Sarasota numerous times and even lived there a few years ago, but haven't been in about 2 years. Since it's my 70th (and on a Monday), I made a reservation at Dry Dock for dinner. If there are any other restaurants you can suggest, please let me know. I have probably eaten at most of the ones around at one time or another, but wasn't sure if a new one would be good. So if a new restaurant has opened in the last 2 years and is really good, please share.
Happy early 70th birthday! It’s great that you’re planning to celebrate in Sarasota, especially since you’re familiar with the area. Dry Dock is a wonderful choice for dinner, offering fresh seafood and a great waterfront view, but if you’re looking for a few new spots to consider, there have been some fantastic restaurants that have opened in the past couple of years in Sarasota that you might enjoy. Here are some suggestions for your birthday celebration:

- Farmhouse Tacos: For something more casual and fun, Farmhouse Tacos offers a delicious twist on Mexican food with fresh ingredients and creative taco combinations. It’s not fine dining, but it’s a great place to enjoy a festive and casual birthday meal.

The restaurant is known for its intimate atmosphere and impeccable service. It’s been a staple in Sarasota for years, and if you’re in the mood for refined, seasonal dishes, it’s a great choice.
Other Special Occasion Ideas:
