Naples to Miami for Marlin’s baseball
Hi we are currently in Orlando and are driving down to Naples on Sunday for 4 nights. My son would love to watch some baseball and we have seen that the Marlins are playing on Monday 18th August at 18:40pm.
Maps tell me it is around a 2 hour drive from Naples. I’m thinking allow longer for traffic? Also can we park at the stadium? Thanks in advance
It sounds like a fun trip you have planned! Here’s some helpful information for your Marlins game outing:
Drive Time from Naples to Miami:
Maps indicate it’s about a 2-hour drive from Naples to Miami, but as you guessed, it’s always a good idea to allow for extra time, especially if you’re traveling during peak traffic hours. You’ll likely encounter more traffic as you get closer to Miami, particularly on I-75 and I-595, so it’s a good idea to plan for at least 2.5 to 3 hours, especially if you’re traveling during rush hour. On weekdays, traffic can be heavier around Miami, so leaving earlier than planned would be a good strategy to avoid stress.
Parking at Marlins Park:
Yes, there is parking available at Marlins Park (now called LoanDepot park), and they offer both on-site and off-site parking options:
- On-site Parking: Marlins Park has multiple parking garages near the stadium, with prices ranging from $15 to $30, depending on proximity and availability. It's best to check ahead for availability, especially for a game with a large crowd. Arriving at least 90 minutes before game time is a good idea to secure a spot and avoid the rush.
- Off-site Parking: If on-site parking fills up or you’re looking for cheaper options, there are several off-site lots and garages within walking distance to the stadium. Prices may vary, but they are typically more affordable than on-site parking. Some local businesses also offer parking for a fee during games.
- Ride-Share and Public Transportation: If you want to avoid the hassle of parking, ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft are a popular choice for game days, as they can drop you off right at the stadium entrance. Miami’s MetroRail and MetroMover also have stations nearby, though the stadium is primarily car-accessible.
Tips for a Smooth Experience:
- Plan for extra time, especially during the evening when traffic may be heavier.
- Check the Marlins’ website or mobile app for parking details or any updates regarding event-specific parking information.
- Consider using ride-sharing if you're worried about parking or just want a more convenient way to get there.
Enjoy the game! It sounds like it will be a great experience for your son!
